As you know this used to be my favorite topic as i love football and horse racing and consequently i put time into it and was unhappy when it was removed and in my opinion it is a big loss to the forum. I know its a poker forum but this was was a plus.

Some great points from AAron and even an unexpected compliment. The find a friend function is a must for any poker site and makes the community stronger and friendlier and this would be a vote winner for me. Well there plenty of idea's already for Gil to consider and heres hoping for a more up to date forum.

PS: I am doing a PC Maintenance course for one afternoon a week for a year or so and have done 4 weeks already so maybe at sometime in the future i can give some advice about the workings of computers. I am actually loving it taking computers apart and putting them back together again and have 4 in my front room atm which reminds me i must get cracking for an hour or so.

Yeah I agree the find a donk I mean friend thingy sounds good to me.

Is it possible to ditch tower torneos? These South Americans seem to be the biggest bunch of crooks around! I've tried getting obama to nuke south america but he's not as lairy as bush and doesnt seem to want to do it. I dont know! Kenyans of today huh!

WOW lol

I thought this thread was on the subject of 'the new platform for the forums" how did we get onto re-evaluating the Mentors so quickly !!

Just while we are on the subject of 'Mentors' though IMO they should at least be the following,

1) A long term winning player.
At VERY WORST CASE break even. ANYONE can give advice (and often do), however the one thing worse than not giving any advice, is giving bad advice.
2) Be computer & forum literate.
3) Be friendly / helpfull & have the ability to communicate with the public.

Let me repeat again - ATM Mentors get ZERO reward for anything they do here.

I have ZERO intrest in the $500 depositors freeroll. Sometimes I do join it. When I do I advertise / type the web address for this forum (as agreed) at a few tables then donk myself out.

As for the original & OP topic Aaron (as usual) pretty much sums it up.

Forgive me but a few of us have been here a LONG time. A few of us have been repeating over and over (and over again) what we would like to see here. Things that we believe would improve this forum for everyone - both members & 888 themselves.

When things are continualy suggested and accepted as good ideas yet history tells us nothing gets done its very easy to lose some intrest.

I think I have been hearing about this 'new forum platform' for approx 2 years + now. Forgive me if my own genuine enthusiasm & intrest has waned a little in this time (though do understand its no fault of my own.)

It really is time we seen some action @ 888's end.
