Minus top 10 tips

1) DONT play if your: tired, hungry, needa piss, affected by alcohol and drugs, having a bad day.

2) DONT play turnements or cashgames that include your entire bankroll. Select a suiting table so you can play unaffected if you should loose all.

3) Be PATIENT - you cant win with all hands you pick up. often at cashgames you can wait for hours before collecting something

4) Play SOLID hands 99% of the time, and dont be afraid to fold on the spot if the flop turns out sick.

5) Play the player, analyze whats goin on - use the time given before takin action.

6) if you dont have a hand you can raise with, FOLD it.

7) ONLY play for flush and flushdraw with the A high on your hand

8) When you (rarely) play small or medio connector, dont be afraid to make a lowbet drawcall, you often win ALOT when you hit, and can fold trash anytime.

9) When you hit "the nuts", dont go fool yourself and slowplay, make them pay here and now - else you gonna end up often with a bad beat (backdor straight and flushes) and your gonna win alot in long terms by calling stations.

10) The most important is to realize that your NOT gonna win just because your the amazing fanstic you. Dont let succes get to your head, it can change your perfect winning style into a highly loosing style. Be prepared mental before any pokergame. Play TIGHT-AGRESSIVE! And most of all, have fun, enjoy the game, even when you loose. Last of all, analyze your own way of playing each time you finished playing - find out what went wrong, why you won those 2 great hands and trippled your BR. Analizing is the key to succes.

If you only disagree with 4 and 7, im happy

It all depends where, who and what you plays. cash, sng, mtt - and for the turnements when - the start/the midgame/the end, there are so so many aspects, and what works for me, may not work for you.

But as standard tips, i think they hold good both of em.

Its up to all players to develope their own personal strategy and art of poker.

Yeah the bluff element is a whole chapter for itself, hehe - but i wouldnt advice anyone to start out bluffing hard here and there before having a solid image.

The most important thing with bluffs is to know when to stop - the worst thing is to bluff and then get a semihit and hang on to it - the greatest thing with bluff is to win a huge pot on pure nuthin

Im not a master of bluff but i do know some important aspects. whenever you bluff, do it right - dont make it look weak, semihands may be drawing. I bet a full value bet with extra tax, and if a get called, i know its time to run the hell outta there

Also dont bluff into a small pot, its gotta be worth bluffin - usually i only bluff if the pot has been reraised preflop - then its easier to guess opponents hands. Exept for mtt`s mid and lategame, there its easier (and more dangerous) to bluff.

Would in fact be nice with a huge bluffguide by anyone?

I respectfully disagree. I think these are great hands to see the flop with, however I won't pay much to see the flop, excepting with KK. I've had some great hands with these pocket pairs, however you need to know when to fold. Last night I slowplayed JJ, got a J on the flop then another on the turn. Kept slowplaying it and it was a thing of beauty!!

My recommendation? Play any pairs from 88 and up but be prepared to dump them if you don't hit trips or two pair.

ahhh forgot sorry! my main tip (from the mad scientist).

If you don't have top pair, or you aren't one card away from a flush or straight after the flop, consider folding*

*depending on your read of the other players etc etc

I know players that fold if they don't have two pair, or aren't one away from flush/straight but that's a bit extreme for my style of play.

my favorite piece of advice

"don't play your own hand, play your opponents hand"

i think that's as close to a poker proverb as you'll get

also i recommend taking your time with the clock. if you feel like seeing a free card and you are one on one, if you take say, 10 seconds to check, the other player will feel less confident to bet so may check for you

I know a certain, profitable player (other than myself) who does not play like this,

May I introduce you to Idi0!

Seriously though for beginners and less experienced players I guess they should remember that rule, but the key point in it is the *,

ie, reads, good read = ability to make good bluff

I can verify that you will never (or should never) win a MTT(Multi Table Tournament) unless you make a few bluffs.

Not going to explain much more, need a beer!
