There are nine groups (five with drivers and four with constructors) and you have to pick as instructed from the groups which are listed below. You will end up with 10 drivers and five teams (half of the starting grid) and these selections will form your team for every race during the season.
HOW TO SCORE
Points are awarded for starting grid positions (20 for 1st, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd etc. all the way down to one point for 20th. But if a driver finishes fifth in qualifying and is demoted 10 places for an infringement of some kind you will only score six points as he will then start in 15th place.
For the race itself you will score one point for every lap each that of your ten selections complete.
If a driver goes out on lap 23 he will be awarded 22 points for the 22 laps he completed.
There are also points handed out for the top eight finishers. (20 for 1st, 16 for 2nd, 12 for 3rd, 10 for 4th, 8 for 5th, 6 for 6th, 4 for 7th and 2 for 8th).
For the constructors, 10 points will be awarded for every car that officially finishes the race - e.g. If you choose Williams and both cars pass the chequered flag you will get 20 points – but if a car stops on the last lap and does not pass the finish line this is classed as a non-finisher.
Finishing points are given out for the top eight constructors home (Highest positioned car only) (20 for 1st, 16 for 2nd, 12 for 3rd, 10 for 4th, 8 for 5th, 6 for 6th, 4 for 7th and 2 for 8th).
E.g. If McLaren finish first and second and a Ferrari finishes third, McLaren will get the 20 points for first and Ferrari the 12 points for second – McLaren will not get 32 points as only a teams highest positioned car scores.
20 points will be awarded for Aegis’s ‘Driver of the Day
20 points will be awarded for the fastest lap of the Day
EXCLUSIONS, ETC.
During the last couple of years there have been problems within the sport once the season started such as the McLaren farce in 2007 and then again last year when Super Aguri pulled out after just five races.
If you get caught out for some reason I am sorry but you have to stick with the selections you made at the start of the season. I will also be abiding with any decisions made by the FIA. If they disqualify a team or penalize a specific driver, then so will I.
If a team goes out of business during the season you will not be allowed to choose a replacement.
DRIVER MOVEMENT OR REPLACEMENTS
If a driver changes teams during the season you keep the same driver, if he is replaced and doesn’t go to another team, then you take the new driver.
