Day 4 ..... Saturday 17th October 2009
Ok it's my turn to perform and I went to the desk to see which table I was on. Table 1 seat 1
Wow that must be an omen and it was, 20 minutes into the game and we were the first table to break
I won't bore you with details but I was doing OK and well into the 5th hours play when looked down at QQ and knew I was ahead of the guy stealing.
He flipped over 77 and hit another one on the turn. That pretty much killed me off and it wasn't long after I was back at forum HQ.
So a few pints was in order and register for the side event, no joy there either.
Getting a bit peckish now so I ordered a hamburger from the waitress. Being allergic to cheese I requested a plain burger and when it arrived it was plain alright.
Lift the lid and inside was a burger, that's it, no mayo, no onions, no salad, nada, just a burger in a dry bun
Never mind, it was only €5 after all, what do you expect from 4* hotel, cordon blue cuisine ?
Today was when most of the professional players and celebrities showed up and lambone was on a campaign to relieve as many of the bounty winners from their Sunderland football shirt prizes as possible.
Each time a bounty winner was eliminated or there was a break, he was in there like a North Eastern Ninja on a mission of life or death.
I don't know what he said to each of them but they soon handed over their shirt which lambone quickly and proficiently tucked under his arm, spun around and sped off before they could change their minds.
Surprising how quickly he can move when he needs to

By the end of the weekend I think he had about 4 or 5 of the things and had to stuff them all in his laptop case to get them home.
You see he arrived in Dublin with a case smaller than wkdwitch's makeup bag urmmmm interesting comparison
The day ended with everyone busted again and nothing to show for all our efforts at the tables.
But the fun, laughter and great time spent with lovely people was compensation enough and is what the whole trip was all about anyway with the poker just being an added diversion.
Besides, we were all full of expectation for lambone's adventure in the final day's play and will all be back tomorrow to rail the big guy, hopefully all the way to the FT.
Amongst the celebrities I managed to snap in my lens were snooker champ Ken Docherty, Pro Player Gentleman Liam Flood and a strange looking Culture Club lead singer look-a-like
Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or a lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.
