The 2009 WSOP is down to the final 27 compeditors with 888's very own Leo Margets being one of them.

I will be here from 20:00 GMT when the action starts to give you all the news and views as it happens direct from Vegas.

It could be a long night/morning until the field has been narrowed down to the final 9

Can Leo push her way back into contention and aim for one of those highly prized seats.

Join me here and we'll share it all together.

I'll provide the posts, you bring the sweets.

I had to close the thread off last night as I was finding that some others were posting the same info as me and it was getting messy.

I apologise if anyone wanted to make a comment or ask a question.

I will also locked this thread but I have opened up a new one as well to allow for your interaction.

I hope this is Ok with you guys?

It would also help me because there were times last night/this morning when I wondered if I was all alone and posting to myself.

So some reaction would be good and my even keep me awake

A Tardy Akenhead

Brit is late

Well, cards are in the air just a shade after noon local time.

On the outer table all players were in their seats -- except for James Akenhead. Akenhead was conspicuously absent, having not yet made his way into the Amazon Room.

His chip bag was opened and dumped onto the table, with his overnight bag tag resting on top of his chips.

About three minutes after cards were in the air, he hurriedly made his way into the room and took his seat at the table.

Smith Strikes at Ivey in First Feature Table Hand

Jordan Smith made it 275,000 to go from the button and Phil Ivey called from the small blind.

The flop was {4-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {A-Spades}. Ivey checked to Smith, who bet 325,000. Ivey came in with a raise to 800,000 and Smith made the call. The river fell the {A-Hearts} and Ivey checked. Smith checked behind

Smith showed {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and Ivey mucked. First blood to Jordan Smith!

Early Double for Short-Stacked Balmigere

Ben Lamb raised to 265,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Francois Balmigere who pushed all in from the small blind for about 135,000.

Ludovic Lacay folded from the big blind, and Lamb made the call.

Balmigere showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Lamb {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}. The flop was {9-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, changing nothing, but the {A-Hearts} brought a response from the crowd as Balmigere was now in the lead.

The river was the {5-Spades}, and Balmigere survives.

Balmigere has 2.75 million now, and Lamb 8.1 million.

Smith Off to a Smashing Start

Joe Cada raised to 250,000 from early position and Jordan Smith called from the hijack seat.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}. Cada led out for 400,000 and Smith called. The {10-Spades} hit the turn and both players checked. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Cada checked over to Smith, who bet 900,000. Cada called.

Smith showed {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for the nut flush and took it down.
